Human Rights sets out the international legal framework of human rights law, its elaboration in regional systems and the extent to which that framework has been given effect to in New Zealand law and practice.

Human Rights covers the historical background of human rights as legal rights; common law and Maori jurisprudence in the context of human rights in New Zealand; an introductions to International Human Rights Law framework; civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights and the rights of indigenous peoples; and the intersection of International Human Rights Law with other areas of the law: human rights and intellectual property, human rights and terrorism, human rights and the environment and human rights and private law.
